Local Poverty Matters to Address Opiate Addition

Wed, Dec 7, 2016 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The epidemic of opiate addiction has touched many people in the community – either directly because of one’s own or a loved one’s struggles or indirectly through struggles of a friend or acquaintance. Getting people into treatment saves lives. Hear from Kim Keene, one of the founders of the Pelican Intervention Fund, about the challenges facing men and women struggling with opiate and heroin addiction and the work the Fund does to support adults in Greater Newburyport on their journey from addiction to recovery. Bring questions to the discussion. The Local Poverty Matters Discussion Group is held on the first Wednesday of the month from October through May. These monthly sessions are free and open to the public.
